The Kite Shoppe Forum _ Off Topic _ Old kite and odd kite

Hi. I'm an occasional hobby flier, and now a collector.
One kite is a Valkyrie by the Nantucket Kiteman. It's made of linen like a bedsheet. The spars are wood dowels. It's a single line delta with a 51/2 ft wingspan. Do I have a nice old flyer or a kite that should be treated like a nice museum piece?

The other kite is a big blue bird with a 7 ft wingspan. The frame is split bamboo. The fabic is ripstop with feathers hand painted on it. There isnt any stitching. All attachment work is glue or cotton string lashing. The body is framed in bamboo wih a ripstop skin with more paint work. It has foam blocks for tucked up legs and the feet are curved like talons and wrapped with red yarn. I haven't found any lables or markings to identify who made it or where.
