It's not too early to start thinking about the 2004 American Kite Association Convention. And this year, it's in Seaside, Oregon!

The 2004 AKA National Convention will be held in Seaside, OR.
Oct. 11 - Oct. 16, 2004

http://www.aka.kite.org/

2004 AKA Convention Logo Contest

For our 27th Annual Convention we will be journeying to Seaside, Oregon

What kind of images does Oregon conjure up for you??

Beaches??
Lighthouses?
The bicentennial of Lewis and Clarke??

We've been to Oregon twice before so perhaps -- the third time's the charm??

The logo will be used on the convention patch, pin, T-shirt and other convention materials. Make sure your design incorporates the red AKA logo, convention year, city & state, looks good in color, black & white and a variety of sizes. An alternative "low fill" version may be requested for polo shirt embroidery. Submit your finished (suitable for reproduction) design drawing to:

Susan Skinner
Convention / Annual Meeting Committee Chair
2381 Nobili Ave
Santa Clara, CA 95051
Annual_meeting@aka.kite.org

All entries must be received no later then March 31st, 2004 and become the property of the American Kitefliers Association.

Cool!

We are really looking forward to it!

We recently heard from Ray Bethell and Ray is planning on being there the whole week too.

We'll be at the WorldMark Resort, right at the turnaround. It would be fun to squish in a 'get-together' of all the SWWKA and KiteLife folks, and any other flyers that want to. We registered for the convention a couple weeks ago, but don't have the packet yet, guess we'll get that Monday at registration. And see how the schedule shapes up.

See you all there!

Hi all,

Looks as if I am only going to be able to make it out there for Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, the 15,16, & 17. At least I will get to make it to play for a little while and see all my kite family. laugh.gif

I hope to make it for the Stunt Finals on Friday, but that's the only day I can (almost) commit to.

Wow! What a week! It's so hard to put it to words!

Every day there was something going on! We flew in each of the 5 Mass Ascentions, and have a new collections of pins! All of the events at the Convention Center were well organized and attended! Great job, and our thanks to all those who pulled it off! smile.gif

Watching all the best of the best flyers come together in one place, is truly an experience! I highly recommend anyone who is considering or debating about attending, to do so!

The Friday night banquet and Auction were fantastic! I have to say, we got a bit carried away! All for a good cause though! I think David said $35,000 was raised for AKA!

Can hardly wait for next year!
