I picked up a set of Carl Robertshaw's Wrist Straps. They are great for anybody flying larger kites. I was out at Delta Park flying my vented Fury. I flew from 4:30pm until close to 8:00pm. Throughout the afternoon and evening I kept noticing my hands, didn't hurt like they normally do with regular straps.
The unexpected find, was the new line sets by Flexifoil. They are expensive boogers, but Scott was excited about them, so I knew they had to be good. (All it takes is Scott to be enthusiastic about a product and I get interested in a hurry.) The lines are thin, compared to anything else I've used, Laser Pro Gold and Shanti. The 200 pound lines were just a little thicker then LPG 90 pounds. The lines come in red and blue, with a number of little tags listing the weight and length, placed over the entire line, which is very helpful. After flying with them I can see why Scott is so enthusiastic. I could be wrong, but I don't believe there is any stretch what so ever with this line. It's a feeling of being connected directly to the kite. I could feel everything. The line is covered with a material that is very slick. I didn't feel any binding no matter how many time I wrapped the lines. In my limited experience these are the best lines I've ever flown on. |
